I was really luck, and found a flight ticket to Melbourne for 65 dollars. On the airport this time, I got really tested. Everything from explosives to drugs.
I stayed in St.Kilda, which u can call the "vacation-part" of Melbourne, just next to the beach and loads of cafes and restaurants. St.Kilda/Melbourne doesn't have the beaches Sydney have off course, but it's refreshing.
The base hostel is big, and full of crazy people getting drunk on "goon". For those of u who don't know what goon is....it's a 4 liter bag of cheap vine. The word goon comes from the Aboriginals, but I can't remember the meaning right now. But 4 Liters of cheap vine for 12 dollars is the way to survive the high prices over here. Can't say it tastes really good, but u get used to it.

My 2nd day in Melbourne, I got picked up by Kristin, a girl i met a couple months ago in Mendoza in Argentina. She had just come home as well. She lived in the same part of the city, and she had a nice car!! She was so kind, and wanted to take me to where ever i wanted to go. We ended up driving The great ocean road down to the twelve apostles. It takes time to get to the coast, and we drove maybe for 3 hours one way only by the ocean. We stopped for lunch on our way, a chill day. I used my chances to be a good tourist off course, and took photos. When we finally made it to the twelve apostles it was extremely windy, and I got loads of sand in my eyes. But it was a fantastic view, so for a day-trip, it was great. It's something with me and the ocean....
One place we stopped, because several others was standing there looking up in the trees. I saw Koalas!!! Yey! And during daytime! According to K that's really rear to see them hanging in the trees and eat during daytime, so I was happy. My first Koalas out in the wild.

Saus! Utrolig trivelig kveld.
The next day K invited me home to her mothers place for a home-cooked meal. For me that's really special, especially since that's a big deal in Norway (or so I feel like). It's great to be invited to dinner, but at her mothers place also, who I never met before....But she was so nice and welcoming!! K have been backpacking herself, so she thought that a home-cooked meal had to be perfect for me. I even got lamb roast with gravy!!!! Gravy!!! I love gravy!!! Really a nice night!
The next day it was time for another reunion. I love reunions. I met up with Vanessa. We met in Vietnam like 3 years ago. 3 years is a long long time!
She took me down to the docks to a "outlet-sale" of fashion clothes. Not my style, but she found a lot. It was also some live music there, and the last one was just amazing. Vanessa met a guy she knew years back from school, and the 3 of us spent the rest of the day together. He had a car, so he drove us to V's place. I love when people have cars, and it seems like everyone have one. Or people here says it's necessary...
She had loads of bars/clubs a couple of blocks from her place. She wouldn't let me use a lot of money on taxi, so i stayed at her place. She drove me home in the morning since I had to check out.
Last night in Melbourne I stayed at Kristin's place. She have her own apartment and room for me. And I got to wash my clothes as well, luxury!! We went to this pizza place, and it was really good, and then to a very nice bar for a beer. Her the limit for alcohol is 0.05, so here people are used to have a couple of beers and then drive.
Last day...time to fly. This time i flew north-east to Cairnes. Up there my adventure started to go down the east-coast to Sydney, where I have a flight to Bangkok.
I don't feel like I was a typical tourist in Melbourne, but that felt good. I went to f.ex Victoria market with people from the hostel, and took the free tram-ride around the city center. I had the best time in Melbourne, it's so fun meeting up with people again! "Guided tour" by car, explanations....
I want to thank both Kristin and Vanessa for good company, and perfect guides. And off course thanx to K's mother for a fantastic meal, and that she opened up her home to a homeless backpacker from Norway.
